either way i think its fucking ugly, I dont care how fast it is
that could be.. the E39 M5 is 4024lbs. the closest thing to it with specs is the E60 545i at 3803lbs. it depends on what that V10 weighs.

some of you seem to be scared of anything new.

btw, i think merc will own the new m5. you all know how under rated the e55 is right? people dyno them at close to 500 hp at the wheels.

Yea, but since when has a truck load of power meant a good car?

Hell, CAR magazine in the UK rated the E39 M5 above the latest E55 AMG.

The E55 is rated at 470bhp though. Its also put through a torque converter.
                It's also over 2 tonne (4087lbs)
I think the M5 (which should weigh under 3800lbs) will make similar horsepower (though not as much torque) and put it down better with a proper clutch (no pedal, but alot less driveline loss than a torque converter)
Now... if they make a V12 or V12 Twin Turbo E-series... its all over.

yea yea, RATED, its a key word. go look on the benz forums, all the stock dyno numbers are high up in the 480's-490's almost 500's at the wheels.

                  under rated? ;)

I think we just need to wait and see when the M5 comes out and is compared to every other previous automobile ever made,

Even if the M5 is slower, it will handle better, and be better,,

for $15k more you can put a twin turbo system on the M5, nothing will be in front then
                    nothing

Official Press release photos are not breaking news coverage.
Nor is it special when you post the same thread on every possible forum.

M5 is good cause its manual.
E55 is awesome cause its still understated and killer fast.
