Just a quick heads up boys.... If you are planning any major criminal activity wait until the middle of a lip refinishing project.... You will have completely removed all if the detail on your fingers, thus making fingerprints untraceable...

Lets Talk Refinishing/Polishing Lips
How do you guys sand the faces? Mine still had some left over paint and I got the hardest parts with a sanding cylinder thing on my dremel. The grit is so high though that it doesn't make sense to use it for the whole face. I've looked for lower grits but haven't found any. Is there any way to make a longer sanding bit in lower grit like 220 or something? Would make doing the faces so much easier in those PITA cracks. Maybe I can start a business or some shit lol
I use 220 to prep for paint, but as we all know it's a bitch!!BMW tech

Yeah I'm having the faces sandblasted. It's nowhere near as expensive as you would think. Go get a quote from a shop that does sandblasting and powder coating. You may be surprised at how cheap it will be versus how much you thought.

I got a set that were already polished with no clear coat but really needed to be redone. These were my second set I've done. The first was RS' that still had factory clear on them.
Went 1500 wet, 2000 wet, 3000 wet, brown rouge, white rouge (different wheel for each rouge), and mothers polish. I have found that you need to change the cotton on for the rouge to get it to not scratch. Also, the more time you spend on wet sanding the less time you need to polish and sometimes you can skip the polish with enough wet sanding.
I am getting a cotton wheel for my bench grinder to see if I can get a little more shine as I will be doing clear powder over it.

Order it online, really. I wouldn't use rouge unless you have a heavy duty polisher/ sisal wheel. Harbor freight has some rouge.
I'm pretty DIY on polishing, but I had to source out some work due to not wanting to aggravate my carpal tunnel I've been fighting since working on a assembly line. There has been people that have huge vibratory tumblers that will polish anything for a couple decades, but it seems to be insider secrets like a lot of cool stuff is.
Right now I'm having a sand cast aluminum alloy wheel center polished by Jason Diem in Pa, hit him up at 4everkustoms on IG, or website. #ceramicpolishing
