      You are correct response time is the same but the input is more sensitive so it definitely helps.

      Now the power button on the E60 M5 was different it actually limited the car to 400hp unless it was pressed.

        I have hated the Sport button in the E46 for well over a decade. Yes, it feels good for a moment and you enjoy the urgency. Except that the throttle pedal basically stops doing anything once you're past a third down. It's just shitbox throttle calibration.

          It's similar to looking at a high torque/low rev engine dyno sheet compared to a nice linear high revving engine.

            I havent driven it much on the E46 on my E93 though it works well, maybe better calibration.
