It doesn’t help that the interior of that car is black. The occupants of that car will roast in it on a 95F clear July day even with the windows all the way down. Makes me glad I got a white/tan car; if the AC ever goes kaput in mine, it’ll be much more bearable in the hottest part of summer while I get the AC fixed -
20k canadian is very much average price for a decent turn key 2dr e30 now. 23k US is definitely over paying. as far as rust it depends which province the car spent it's time in. generally it's about the same as you'd find on a US car. most e30's up here stopped serving winter duties a few decades ago and are only driven on summer roads now.
cars from the west coast never see salt as it isn't used there. the roads on the prairies will destroy them if not maintained or if they are winter driven. the eastern cars are the rusty ones.

Probably jumped the gun and bought a car with no AC in a place he'll want to have it
dumb move now he's going to be banned or at least temporarily restricted. It's very clean but I think that's a lot of money for a canadian car (probably has hidden rust) with no AC.
