I'm curious to see what impresses you at this point, lol.
I've had my face in that engine bay. NA ITB rb26 with some choppy cams and all sorts of goodies. Cage is very nicely done, aero is very nicely fitted.

First off, yeah, I'll admit to being picky. But, the first gen Z is my favorite car hands down, and I've invested entirely too much time reading about pretty much anything and everything to do with them. You could say I'm a little passionate. As I see it, that build was a high dollar build, with little to no actual thought put into it. The RB26 is a great motor (and came with ITBs btw), but for whatever reason (I don't know why) it just doesn't seem to be very impressive as an NA motor. Lots of RBs have been swapped in, most turbo, a few NA, and I don't know of a single one making more than a comparable L series. It's also heavier than the L series. Honestly, between the motor choice, the wheels, and the rocket bunny kit, it comes off as a car built by a JDM fanboy. I also find the color choice pretty bland, but that's subjective. I will admit that TE37s are popular for a reason, they're a good looking wheel, and also really lightweight.

My biggest gripe though has got to be the cage. I'm no expert on roll cages, but I have a pretty good idea of what makes a cage strong, and also where the Z chassis needs some help. On very nearly EVERY cage that goes into a Z, the cage ties into the rear strut towers, that is, there is usually a bar going from the top of the main hoop to the strut tower, and there's also usually a bar welded between the two strut towers, or at least something bolted in. Except for NHRA cages, I've never seen the rear bars go to the trunk floor, partly because you want that as a crumple zone, and partly because there's simply no reason to. Yes, I know he has a short tube going to the rear strut tower, but that's not really the same - and there's nothing between the towers.

And then there's the door bars. They're mostly just in the way. No triangulation, no nothing. The tubes around the roof don't follow the roofline much to speak of, and the A pillar bar could really be closer to the A pillar, and I think I see what they were going for with the plate tying the two together, but the holes don't add any strength since they aren't dimple died, so I'd say it's mostly just for show, along with the rest of the cage. I'm sure it stiffens the chassis a good amount, but it's really not impressive, and IMO far from being a good cage.

Again, yeah, I'm picky, but details are the difference between a good build and a great build, and IMO, he completely missed the mark on the finer details. Probably should have enlisted someone that actually knows the cars.

Cause we actually want it to look good. Not like the usual stance boys that hear rocket bunny and instantly think its the coolest thing even though its ugly as sin.
