My GF got me Dupli-Color self etching primer and the only black trim paint that we could find is the Dupli-color brand..Is this okay? is SEM a brand or does it stand for Self etching...M..?

        Thanks

SEM is a brand - Google it to find vendors, not sold in local stores that I could find.

I used duplicolor brand and it worked fine. I used to refinish my mirror housings, a little bit on the bumper mouldings and on the big A pillar trim pieces. If you're respraying the rocker panels, use 3M rubberized undercoating, or equivilent.

Thanks...Just trim. I was thinking that the primer would be fine and I will seek out SEM trim paint and use it with dupli color primer

If you look in the yellow pages under "upholstery Supplies" you should find a dealer for SEM.

I used Dupli-Color on mine. The "Bumper Coating" is a great color, IMHO. After a quick wipe with "Wax and Grease Remover" (available at most body shop supply stores) I shot it with adhesion promoter, then bumper coat. Still looks great after 10K miles.

I told him Natur Leder and he said he knew what color they were. I ordered them from the guy you bought from and he sounded knowledgeable.
