We shall see how the whole "ownership" of the driving logs pans out in courts as it will be an increasingly important aspect of litigation as autocars make their ways out on public roads in greater numbers.

As soon as the cheap Tesla comes out (if that is) there will be plenty of "unintended acceleration" cases and claims. I mean, if you can't press a brake pedal you're probably not qualified to ride a bicycle, open doors, or even walk.

In that vein, it can't be long before young drivers, and maybe older ones are required to have an assisted driving car for "safety."

I think puzant ozbag is North Indian for douche canoe.

Sounds like a case where she fucked up royally and instead of standing up to it, she just loudly tried to pass blame off herself. She has to be incredibly stupid to not see that the car would tell on her.

But how do we know that the logs arent rigged to indicate driver error in order to cover up a mechanical/ hardware mishap? ;)

The VW emmissions computers were just the beginning of something even more serious...

It's pretty simple really. Investors invest in a company like Tesla. As that company progresses, its stock grows in value. Then something like this happens, and Tesla's stock decreases as a result. The idea being that if their product allows people do crash into walls, it must not be worth investing in. But as it turns out, the lady who crashed her car blamed the car for her mistakes, which might have caused Tesla's stock to decrease. This could realistically be considered a type of fraud. It could be a criminal offense. But because courts are a long and arduous process, the poster took it to the next level: hold her directly accountable for her actions.
