For anyone looking for a good set for us with storage, look no further than the 258 piece set with case. It has enough tools to cover an engine swap in an e30, short of the special inverted and non inverted Torx. I've had mine for 3 years now. -

The ratchets suck, they take too much torque to drive the ratchet mechanism. And the sockets all have these little dimples where the ratchet goes in, so half the time you try to put the socket on the ratchet, it catches the dimples instead of the square hole.Comment

Currently mad at sears for not giving me store credit for an unopened Craftsman brand tool. They can suck it

I gave up on Cman for the chi-com manufacturing of most of the current line up. Not with the pricing anymore, might as well just get H/F stuff (though the pro line still looks to be ok)

Oh I know I am not really against them, I have a BIG box full of them, just not reaplaceing them when needed with Cman or buying them when putting truck bags togeather and what not. FWIW the pawn shops around here get more for the truck brands than the truck guys do it seems but wont pay you shit for them if you want to sell anything decent. Save for the one TOOL ONLY shop we have.... But the sanp stuff there is still as much as the truck. The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. -Alexis de TocquevilleOriginally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

I wonder how different it is from this one:
http://www.sears.com/craftsman-254-p...7&blockType=G7
Which has the 75t ratchet. From looking at the list it's missing the combo wrenches and some random sockets.
In the Army I used a combination of Snap-On, Mac and the occasional SK, so it's hard to downgrade, but it's also a fraction of the price. Additionally, I suspect it's hard to get the Snap-On guy to come to your house. Though it was also a hassle to get him on post, too. Might grab one. Is the difference between the pro and "standard" sets just Made in the USA and the requisite quality that comes with that?
Where are you finding deals on snap-on tools?
EDIT: This is the deal right here: http://www.sears.com/craftsman-311-p...&blockType=G1#
Wide array of 12 pt sockets and ratcheting wrenches. No screwdrivers, but I have tons anyway. Plus standard if you work on any other cars. Dug an old set of off brand out the other day in preparation and they were pretty rusty. Don't buy off brand...Last edited by stinkytaco; 07-19-2016, 11:18 AM.Comment
