Help me pick a daily driver....

ok well it seems as though i am now in the market for a daily driver and my e30 will be a fun weekend car.

I have about 5500-6000 to spend on the vehicle.

i am thinking about the possibility of an e34. 5-speed of course for anything is prefered. Are the 530's good cars. are they pretty problem free. I have a friend with a 1995 530 auto. it was a fun little car and seemed to run fine.

i don't have to get a BMW. I don't know where to start looking.

    PLEASE give me your suggestions....

I believe 1995 530s had the V8 in them. 1995 was the year they had bad blocks so make sure you have a newer one on that car. Also, that engine is known to leak on the valley pan which is a big job to change that gasket (10hrs book time I believe). I would recommend against it. Get something like what Dave said. Some Japanese vehicle owned by an adult.

Don't buy another nice BMW, especially something like a manual E34. You're going to end up spending just as much money modding it as you would your E30. Get something cheap and dependable, that you aren't going to want to mod.

i dont have to worry about that, because this will DEFINITLY not be modded.

i might do cosmetic stuff, like a front lip and some nice wheels. but that would be it and i could gaurantee that.

124 chassis Mercedes. Great cars, the Diesels will pull forever and are normally well taken care of.

Agreed. Used to own a 'Yota 4x4 truck - couldn't break it if I tried.

I'll consider everythig, but i'm really starting to lean towards buying this 1991 535i that i found.
