Most people are going to be visiting your site to buy. They shouldn't have to click a link immediately after going to your site to do what you know they are coming to your site to do. That's a completely unnecessary click and it loads a whole new subdomain.

Or hey, maybe you have a 50/50 buyer/seller split and you have the site set up properly for your user base. But I doubt it. Take a look at craigslist. Study your competitors sites and ask why they are doing what they're doing.

Steven, I like the website and didn't find it hard to click the link or whatever bullshit is going on above.

Aesthetically, I like how the search bar is right over the car's bumper. A nice detail

I understand what you are saying. The website is currently more of a proof of concept. If all goes well and I can secure further funding, there will be an integrated landing page which will all but eliminate this step. For now, it's what I can afford with both time and monetary constraints.

Thanks! Like I said up there, I understand what he's saying and it is something that I've had on my todo list. Glad you were able to easily navigate the website.

I've made a short survey for the website in order to get anonymous tips and criticisms of Enthusio. https://goo.gl/forms/xvVPYAk2TbYSoS0E2

How changing a button increased a site's annual revenues by $300 million.

I get what you're saying, but that article is about confusion when customers are trying to check out. And is something I've seen first hand when my last business beefed up their online presence. Some people have a hard time reading and following directions.

But you're talking about the front page of his website. Which is very simple and easy to navigate. "buy" or "sell." it can't be any easier. I've tried to figure out what you're talking about like 5 times and it's like trying to reverse engineer a problem that just isn't there..

Your rating scale flips half way through the survey. Not related to the website but, it was confusing when I noticed.

My opinion is that its not hard at all actually. Those few brands you have listed on your site, are here, post here, and advertise here. Quick google searches turns up needed items.

I mean, i get the whole make it easy to find stuff, sort of like the sites where you can check every city on craigslist for e30 stuff etc. But the site does seem unneeded to me, unless the peoples items you advertise, really need another reseller? If i need items from garagistic, i would just buy it from them, not sure why id go through someone else.

                    Just my 2cents

edit: this is more me thinking out loud at first glance/browse

I think what he's saying is that in order to buy something you have to go through an unnecessary step. Which I can understand how it relates to the article in the sense of reduced purchases from people stopping on the landing page and never seeing the actual products.

I fixed this. Thanks for the heads up and taking the survey for me! :)

I understand what you are saying and it's all something I've thought about and I have responses to. Just hear me out as I try to put it to words.

I started as a seller. The reason the idea came about is because of the transaction process currently for individual sellers on the forum. They have to send PMs, Paypal responses, and if you're a new seller with low posts there's a lack of trust -- even if you have a good product. Take, for example, how George Graves does his transactions.

During the process of looking for parts, I've come across some amazing companies that sell parts I had never seen before. Which is why I pivoted the intro (for buyers) to be product oriented. However, brands are super hard to get ahold of and super hard to get on board.

With that said, Enthusio is in it's infancy. Until there are more companies and more of a selection of parts, the value will not be felt by the buyer or seller. (Chicken and the egg problem) However, once the website starts to become more populated, business through the website will benefit both the buyer and seller.

You can say it's easy to find parts, but you've been in the game for awhile now, imagine someone that just bought an e30, or imagine if you just bought a VW. Would you have any clue what venders there are and what upgrades there are for your chassis? What if a mainly BMW brand also sells Mercedes parts but no one knew about them because all Mercedes people thought they only did parts for BMWs?

If brand loyalty is made in Enthusio, it won't be about supporting brands directly anymore, and that's how they'll want it. Sales will come because of increased awareness of everyone's product through one platform.

Hope that wasn't too long of a read. Just a brain dump.

Pretty cool website, I would like to see a "sort by brand/seller" option on the side below "type"

As we begin scaling and we get more and more sellers, this option would become very cumbersome. However, I might be able to put this feature in after you pick what car you want.

I think it's a cool idea with great intentions. It almost reminds me of a local farmer's market in a way. As a potential future seller (I'm always brainstorming E30 products I could build and sell), I think it could really help build awareness for the small guys that create a cool product that would help a lot of fellow enthusiasts out. Good luck with everything and I'll be keeping an eye out

Thanks! That's basically the idea. In the community, people that make parts don't have a place to come together where they can show off what they make to a large audience. For craft and handmade goods, you have Etsy, for Electronics, you have Tindie. As is currently, us enthusiasts don't have a similar outlet -- just a bunch of scattered websites with a few brands on each.

I'd like to do a show in the future with a bunch of vendors, like a trade show.

On another note, you should put up your roof rack and see how many we can sell ;)

I think it's a cool idea and I do want it to succeed. I took 10 minutes to quickly mock up a different layout with all the same graphics. Something about the buttons and text over the car just bother me.
