It doesn't last at the student forever. I still have my college email address, but a year after graduating, they said "nope."
..that being said. I use the sh*t out of Amazon Prime, so I don't complain. The streaming video is the cherry on top since Netflix has sucked recently for movies.

Remember everyone, if you have a .edu email address (aka you are a student, or the university you attended allows you to maintain your .edu email address after you graduate, forever, like in my case) you get Prime for way cheap, like 50 or 60 a year, with 6 months free at the beginning.

Man, they are really going to force me to Prime weather I like it or not.
Amazon offers Prime discount to honor 'Grand Tour' show launch
Amazon Prime normally costs $100 a year. Starting at 12 a.m. ET Friday, you'll be able to sign up for a year of Prime for $80 if you're a first-time user. (In the UK that's a discount from £79 to £59.) The promotion lasts all day Friday until 11:59 p.m.

Looks I'm surprised and not mad...
For months now we’ve been told that The Grand Tour was debuting on November 18. For months now no one has been told at what time on November 18 we’d be able to watch the show. But thanks to our righteous campaign for our information, we finally have the start time. And it’s actually a day early for Americans.

From some one who works at Amazon video content service (first hand heard this):
The first episode will go live Thursday at Midnight. Even the senior execs haven't seen it yet..
Unfortunately, my contact was not a TG fan so it's not a big deal to him.
