Dunno - I bet others here can spot that. If real, though, where did the Alpina valve cover go?

Well we always knew they did – we count approximately ten on the Alpina Register (though who knows how many of them are still on the road) – but this is our first time getting a good lo…

Didn't find it on the Alpina Register.

It is a nice car. I don't see a Alpina vin tag. It looks like a original BMW vin tag. Alpina offered deco pin stripes only gold and silver.

There's still a few cars here and there that aren't on the registry.. He tries to keep it up to date, but it's only one dude, and he has all models/builds to keep track of (which with the recent changes to them being produced on the BMW assembly line and pretty much becoming mass produced models now, it's a lot..)

That being said, to find out it authenticity, you'd need to see a few things:

-The Alpina VIN that Raul mentioned.
                -The correctly numbered plaque
-If a Bucholoe built car, the stamping in the shock tower (Synter cars didn't have this.)
-Also if it's a Bucholoe car, the crossed out BMW cowl VIN
-The 4 digit stamping on the head
-The stamping on the Engine block (Alpina engine series + car number)

And even these days, people won't accept that as 100%. unless you have the build sheet. Either the original, or a reprint from Bucholoe.

I've seen a lot of crazy stuff done to Alpina's, so even with all the painting and what not, doesn't rule it out as legit.
