Some guy on YouTube does it (destroys one), and everyone loses their minds.

Did you get upset when Top Gear dropped one on it's roof? Probably not. What makes this different?

Also, it is just a car. E30's are great, no doubt. But unless it has some personal sentimental value, which this car didn't, then yes it is just a car.

You'd be surprised. Youtube lost most of its advertisers earlier in the year and passed this on to many youtubers by way of finding bullshit reasons to cut their pay. If you're curious, H3H3 Productions has a handful of videos illustrating in detail the effect "admageddon" has had on them - and they're one of the bigger channels. There are numerous "small time" youtubers who have to close their channel or change their scheduling format because of the need to get a "real job" now.
