Plastic Bumpers onto an '87 325is

Hey there everyone. I'm a little bit curious about putting plastic bumpers on a 1987 325is, mostly to get rid of the ugly (in my opinion at least) chrome. I like the solid look of the color down through the bumper, rather than having the silver just slice through there. How difficult is this job, as I've read that it is a bit more difficult for pre '88 cars. Is the end result the same? Does it look out of place at all?

    thanks!
