3.0si "Bavaria" wagon

If this hasn't been posted, it's pretty cool. Over on Road & Track.

A custom-built 1974 3.0si Estate, 1 of about 12 made, some to support the 2002 rally team. This is the last one left, completely restored, worth a lot of money.

Same as the E28 tourings, poorly conceived, ugly, unappreciated.

Makes me understand why BMW did not decide to originally in house design an E30 touring.

I agree the C pillar connection and rear quarter are awkward and a bit clumsy. Maybe the roof line and glass should have gone straight back level instead of droop. The greenhouse chrome lines are fairly straight - it's the body line that curves.

Its funny how a Volvo 240 wagon looks like it was designed that way, but it was added onto the sedan like this was - look at the top of the rear doors on one.

It's also why I don't understand why everyone loses their spunk over the Volvo shooting brakes, I think they look awkward too.. But then again - I love me some 60's wagons... I'm kinda sick like that.

I'm with you, I love the E3's but not that one. I understand the history I just don't want to be part of it.

You can easily tell the back of the car was an add on. I'd have to agree it doesn't look great. Interesting though as a piece of history, but not something I'd be interested in owning.
