Haha, this is funny. I ordered a Ryan G for the purpose of a mold. I just started my Carbon splitter for an is lip this weekend. Nice work. Beat me to it! But nice nonetheless. What other carbon bits you making? Pics of it installed pronto :)
Curt if you successfully make one, i wanna see it, i want one too if your'e willing to reproduce more.
You didnt use dry carbon did you? What weave is that? What did you use to form it? Lots of details, I know :)
I dont know what you mean dry carbon. You mean just laying it up and not really prepping the CF?
I didnt make it but i watched most of the steps for it. Basically the Ryan G. splitter was layed down and carbon was just layed on top of it. I just wanted the ABS plastic mimicked. It wasnt vacuum badged. To hard to do without management seeing it.
See at work im really not supposed to do this. It was made from scraps. The guy who pretty much did 90% of the work for me is our carbon fiber guy. I'm always in the engine shop and hes always working in his area. So he made it on down time when he didnt have anything else to do.
The best part, I still dont have a iS lip. its not the best part, i lied haha. ive been searching for a good deal on one so i can get this installed but nothing has come up yet. i may just have to get a new iS lip.
Good used is lips are like bigfoot, very hard to find. I rebuilt my front end with all used parts. The only new part was the is lip.
