So what do you guys thing of the Z8 and do you know what car they redesigned it after??? BTW I would buy the car they copied in a second if I could ever find one.
I'm not a fan of retro designs in general, I think they impede progression and are a cheap way of selling cars based on nostalgia rather than creativity, function, and good design. I don't think BMW would or should make a retro-styled car; they sell their cars based on performance and technology and tout themselves as forward looking "a company of ideas". It really annoys me that these retro BMW ideas keep coming up; if BMW ever made one you'd just end up angry and disappointed anyway. Just like the new Mini is really nothing like the original a new '02 would not have the same heart or feel as the original, it can't happen.
amen, take the pt cruiser, hhr, whatever the fuck that retro chevy useless pick up thing is,mustang and all the other retro looking cars and set them ablaze
restore the old originals and keep the new shit for family daily's
The z8's nice...they took design cues from the 507. I'd rather have a regular BMW one vs. the Alpina version since the BMW original is faster...The Alpina DOES handle better.
I find the interior design to be very distracting however.
The thing is...they never try to pass it off as 'the new' 507. Plus most people don't know what the hell a 507 is in the first place.
I wonder if it's possible to get the deaership to put one through for Euro delivery before we can get it in the US?
Or you might be able to work something out with a dealership in the EU and have the car shipped over..........
Since nowadays Euro cars are virtually identical to US cars......hmmmmm.
The 1-series is kinda cool, I've seen a few modded ones that I liked (Hartge, AC Schnitzer), but they're a little too "grocery-getter" for my tastes. They look too much like the new Mazda-3 wagon, which is a cool looking car, just not my style.
What are they going to call the ///M version of it? They can't be stupid enough to call it an ///M1...

True and True, I would not buy a Z8 but the 507 is Sweet.
