The lack of updates has me wondering what they might be up to.... throwing out some plausible explanations.

    1) joined a cult in Utah
    2) too high in Colorado
    3) the rain and snow that hit last week is causing delays

Heyo, someone else is doing something similar to what I did!

Trust in yourself, trust in your car, and remember that when shit doesn't go according to plan is when it gets to be the best parts of the trip.

Felt like a triage nurse working on that car! It was losing fluids and smoke all over!

I should probably take a moment to reassure everyone that Ben and Nicholl won't die in that thing; the thermostat and fuel line issues looked like honest noob mistakes by the PO, and a sway bar as big as that would rip any mount that hasn't been reinforced. We spent a lot of time just inspecting the underside of the car and checking things like the guibo, CSB, driveline mounts, wheel bearings... all shockingly good! I won't make any excuses for the wiring near the headlight switch - that was pure dumbassery and I was glad to chop it all out and replace burned wire and to reterminate the wiring into the switch with new heat shrink rather than globs of solder shorting into one another. You know, 'cause dash fires are kinda lame.

Ben, it was a pleasure to have you guys. Good luck the rest of the way and as usual, feel free to call/text if you get into trouble.

So i heard that Mooneyes is just down the road from where Rob lived, and i really really wanted to go!!

Nicholl wanted to go to Long Beach so we agreed to go Mooneyes on route to Long Beach.

We had plans in the evening so we had to be back to Robs for a set time.

Now a little back history, i originally started talking to Rob back in 2012 but never had we actually met but became amazing friends over this time, he was just someone that you can rely on no matter what its about and what time of day it is, i have so much time for Rob and he is probably one of my closest friends yet he lives half the world away. I have actually known Rob for longer than I've known my wife!!

Now, when we get up to leave the house we came out of our room to a table full of breakfast, this is amazing and totally unexpected!!

after a good amount of food we rolled out to the car and set off for our first stop, Mooneyes.

First of all we checked out the gift shop, and yes i got some gifts, for me.

And then we made our way over to the machine shop but checked out what was in the parking lot before hand.

A little fun fact, the first Shelby was built in the Mooneyes warehouse, to get funding Carol needed to build multiple cars, he did not have the money for this so he built the one car and kept repainting it in different colours, he showed the photos of this one car in different colours to make his financial backers think he had more than just the one.

Now, inside the machine shop they had a couple of their drag cars, the blue car recently came back from a long stint in Australia racing.

And the Yellow car is more of a show car these days as its old technology and no longer fast enough to keep up with modern day dragsters, this is a reproduction of one that crashed previously, the crashed frame was hanging from the ceiling.

Then we was let loose around the rest of the shop, that everything is all hand made over here is incredible. love it.

Now this is NOT a Harley Davidson, top points who can tell me who made this and where.

This was casually chilling outside the shop as we was leaving.

After Mooneyes we then went down to Long Beach

Heading back from 2nd street (i think) we saw a couple cool cars go past.

After Long Beach we then cruised back to Robs as he was hosting a car meet that evening.

Now the cars are not going to be to the taste of most the members of this forum, i personally appreciate most car styles no matter where you come from or whatever your taste. different strokes for different folks.

No hate here please this isn't what this thread is about.
