Simple, affordable mod ideas?

So this cold I have has left me with the world's worst case of cabin fever. Today I removed all the tar from my trunk and under my rear seat, fixed my broken glovebox and trunk seal and just sort of cleaned up my car. I have a feeling tomorrow will be much the same in terms of wanting to get outside and work on the car again so I need some ideas on what I could do. I don't have much money for new parts at the present moment so things that I could do with things commonly found around the house (or workshop, my dad keeps the basement fairly well stocked) would be awesome. I'm thinking about making a form for a CAI but that will only take so long...

Already done. I was trying to find something else other than cleaning/polishing the car. I guess I'm just procrastinating...

Pull your seats out and give your interior a good scrubbin.

Cleaning is always the cheapest option. Take apart your engine bay and detail every nook and cranny.

The paint in my wheelwells looks better than most of my entire car :P

Ooh, engine bay cleaning! That should keep me busy for awhile. Anything I can do that might make the car faster? (I realize that it's probably a fever-induced halucination to think I could make my car faster without spending money on parts. Although I did make it nearly 70 lbs lighter today...)

hmmm...tar removal...i need to add that too my list of things to do...you can rejuvinate trim using trim paint or just touch up using a trim restore type product...

dampening material underneath the car in the transmission well can be removed too....i bought my e30 with it all gone and a new slushbox, so im assuming whoever did the replacement removed it all....that firewall type material is pretty heavy...

im tihnking of doing some weight savings of that black stuff...unnecessary objects like broken cruise control. blah blah....cleaning everypart in ure engine bay as mentioned above is nice....

drill ure bumper rebars for super weight savings!!

The trunk tar was actually quite easy to remove and it surprised me just how heavy the trash bag was when all of it was consolidated at the end. Where else could I find tar to remove without jacking up the car? I like this whole weight savings idea.
