Driving w/ 2 rear snow tires?

A friend of ours just gave me two snow tires, bottlecaps. Wondering how many of you run snow tires in the rear and summer/all-seasons in the front? Safe to do so? Comments?

I wouldn't mind finding two other bottlecaps, lol. Save me from cleaning the weaves and it would look more uniform.

It's not a good idea to do. Because while you'll have traction at the rear, you won't have traction in the front--it's always important to be able to steer.

If I were you, I'd pick up two more bottlecaps on eBay and mount snow tires on them. It will be much safer than having snows at the rear.

      Speed ratings may be different

      Traction will be different

May not be the best Idea, however I have done it in the past..

I would strongly recommend putting all four of the same tires on.
You will appreciate the way the car handles in the snow much more

      Steering is imperative!

Also your front tires do most of the work when braking!!!!

do the snow tires have studs in them? if so you can do a burnout and watch the sparks

not a great idea. from personnal experience on an old bronco in the snow. you will regret it if anything happens to the car.

Never drive with half and half tires in the snow. All 4 tires must be snow tires.

put 2 snow on the left and 2 all seasons on the right.

It is perfectly fine to drive with only 2 studded tires on a 2 wheel drive car (It's a no-no on all wheel drive or 4-wheel drive cars however). Obviously it won't be as good of traction as running 4 studded tires, but it will be better then running no studded tires.

Not a bit faster than the car will go.

I did half and half for like 4 winters. Just be careful.

My fronts where all seasons and larger (55) and the rears where smaller (50) winters.

                            Sold it.
