    Who gets stopped for questions.........

about your car? In the past 2 weeks I have been stopped twice. One guy just wanted to compliment me on my car and find out what year it was. The other guy wanted to know where he could buy one :P It definitely feels good, that's for sure......... 8) Anyone else have similar experiences?

    thanks, George

I had a homeless guy down town want to give me "bones" I didn't want to roll down the window, and he just keep standing there giving me props, after the light turned green.

I'v also been followed and hunted down by other E30 peps.

A everyone thinks dave has some "tight JDM widebody" kit on his.

I get some BS from people. A lot of people think its a 96, dunno why but that is the overwhelming number people come up with. The only person to correctly identify its age was a cute chick, she might be a prospect. One kid who was like 12 said it wasnt cool because it didnt have a Z on the back. I tried to explain to him that it was the M it needs but he didnt get it.

I had one guy come up to me to offer to buy it (before the alpina dam, before wreck) and he offered me almost enough to sell it until he mentioned to me that he was wanting it for his daughter as a graduation present. Then it turned to, "Hell no!"
                    Im now E30less.

Used to happen all the time. A few times people knew my name:

"Ah shit, your Lukas huh?" "I've seen your website!" "Nice ride!"

Now it never happens. What gives?

I've been stopped a couple times, One time the guy stopped me to compliment the car then told me he has a garage quened 325ix. I've seen him a couple times since then.
Also guys at the auto parts stores compliment the car when ever i'm buying parts for my mom's vehicles.

Literally on my way home from purchasing my '87 325is, a guy who graduated from my high school one year ahead of me followed me home in his E28 535is. We talked for a little bit. I guess he's really into BMWs and was curious because he'd never seen mine before in the area (he lives about 2 minutes away from me). But I haven't spoken to him since, and also haven't had anyone else show interest in my ugly little black E30.

About the only questions that I get are...

"why do you drive such an old car that you're always working on....buy a new one"

Then I have to tell them that...

"cause all the new cars I like would set me back at least $35K (stripped 330Ci) and I don't want to get raped with payments"

I have to explain how I like driving a car with a sporting nature to it....that older BMWs handle great, don't cost a lot to buy or maintain, and there are tons of clubs out there with other dedicated folks like myself.

Then they reply with "those new Acura's look pretty sporty....I'm sure you could afford one"

They just don't get it :?
