It cracks me up how there is such a debate on the tails. big - sweet - small - sour. I always liked the smalls. Then I started looking on the forums, only to find I was one of the minority. LOL

Shaved front roundel is good though right? I feel the same way about that one. Rear stays, front goes...
          Reminiscing...

Well, on such cars liek that where it is run by sponsors, then its cool for them to shave the roundels, its more of an advertisment for the companies not BMW. But even if I were I purist, the late tails are ugly.

Shaved Roundels are a nice addition, IMHO.

I'm not hip on the LM tails on M3...Not only the originalities' sake, but the skinny tails have a more classic almost mean look to them compared to the late's.

Could be a carbon fiber/fiberglass replica trunk? It's a race car afterall

I took that pic, and that car is all but a race car!
shaving the rondels here in germany is/ was really big. Once again, I will say it. Here in germany, driving a bmw is like driving a chevy everyone has/ can have one- so small details to seperate the cars are always good.

No way, I think that a car should always keep it's manufacturer's emblems. I like debadging the model designation, since most cars have the model name/number at one side of the trunklid, it tends to make the rear look "lopsided" (aesthetically speaking). I think the front Roundel is part of the look of the E30 front end, it just messes it up.

Jon, you may be right about the trunklid, but most FG and CF replica trunklid/hoods have Roundel provisions.

my trunk lid is orig fiberglass, and the prev. owner filled the rondel hole. just something that was though of as "cool" over here.

I think it looks good, but I've always gone with the saying
"As long as YOU like it, who cares what THEY say?" A huge
+1 for the guy to chop up his M3

I agree with Josh though, I don't think the Roundels should
be cut of (but that's my opinion), I think model designations
should go out the window. The only thing on the back of my
Subaru is the AWD logo, makes it snazzy!

In this instance, I think the purists have something to go off of. There are a very limited number of these cars available, and it is just saddening to see someone hack one apart.

If the car is salvage, who cares... but for the love of all that is holy, DONT make irreversible "upgrades" to good clean cars!!

I don't like large tails on any E30. I think they are too big for the car. And yes, I have a '91, so STFU if you think I'm biased because of my '87.
