    Performance, Power or Protection?

    The issue at hand:

After a month with mono I am completely stir-crazy and have mod fever like mad but I have also not worked so my finances are not so great. There are three things I have promised myself sooner or later and I would like to get at least ONE of them out of the way.

    1) Sway bars; This, with perhaps the addition of a sparco strut bar would complete the suspension end of my project and leave me with a great feeling of satisfaction.

    2) Conforti Chip and perhaps an intake system; This, if the intake were definitely included, would complete the "ghetto" stage of the power end of my project (intake, exhaust, chip,) would boost me a few bhp and might also leave me with a feeling of satisfaction, although I doubt as great as the first idea.

    3) V1. This needs no explanation. A V1, hard-wired with a remote display mounted somewhere clever to replace my aging Bel 960. This makes me niether faster nor better handling but leaves me with a great feeling of security, and providing the remote display is clever enough, a feeling of great satisfaction.

All of these seem to be within $100 of each other and all of them will happen eventually and at the present moment I am equally torn so please voice your honest opinions and help me blow my hard-earned cash!

    Cheers,
    Brendan

I vote for the chip or the V1. I will probably be buying a V1 soon myself.

The reason I don't suggest getting larger swaybars is because really large/stiff swaybars are not a good thing on the track. I guess for on the street or autocross, they are fine though.

          Chip it with Mark D.

          Well worth the $$
I even picked up 2mpg more.

Or go with V1 or passport 8500.

I would go with a Mark D but he doesn't seem to make one for my 525 ECU...

Didn't you know you need 101 mods before you can go to the track? Dang!

I always wondered what DaveCN was waiting for.

There aren't any track schools around here until spring. I'm bored, and when I'm bored, I mod.

I'm honestly not feeling the intake thing, although my mechanic insists that if we build a proper one he should be able to get some more power out of my engine. Of course this from a guy who just built a Dinan supercharged M3 and is a little power hungry at the moment...

                        I'd say chip.

Or, be happy with what you have for now and save your money for bigger and better things

Well I've already modded my suspension a fair bit so there's a part of me that says I should finish what I started with, but I've already emailed Mark D about a chip for my 525 ECU...

Of course logically I should be buying snow tires...

hardwired v1 and display. i just set up my winter car the same way, and i'd never trade that set up for anything. its hard driving without a v1 after you become used to it.

Where did you mount your display?
