    Driving in flood conditions

How much standing water can a lowered(ie3/bsports) e30 go through without worrying about damage of some sort?

Its raining cats and dogs out there and its almost getting impossible to avoid flooded roads.

I would think that as long as the exhaust stays above water, you should be fine. This is assuming you drive VERY slowly and cautiously. Really, it's just better to drive around flooded areas. You never know how deep some areas REALLY are.

Air intake is of higher concern than exhaust.

      Keep it slideways!!

If anyone drives through somethin THAT high in an E30, they should be driving at all.

On cars with low-riding cold air intakes this is a serious problem. Happened to a couple of cars a few years ago during a storm at Waterfest.

if you have a stock intake, you can go all the way up to the bumpers, but you might get water in your interior..

I had some serious fun driving through some big puddles this morning. I also happen to like my work's parking lot which is covered in wet leaves!

So realistically I can go as high as my door jam without worry? the water around here is getting ridiculous, flooding everywhere, my work building is leaking in our service depot. Luckily i'm in here on my computer testing software -_-

Wow! It hasn't hit here yet. It is 70 and barely drizzling all day. They are calling for 5-10" in the coast range tonight and same in the Cascades. Good thing we have no snow to melt or I would be working on the ark and getting the good cars to higher ground.

good thing I live east of the mountains now. still rains, but we get like 15% of what Tacoma gets.

And I wouldn't be driving through much more than a couple inches of water.
