Ok, great, thanks for all the help.

My tranny does have sincros, but it's a 1970 transmission, so it is a little, shall we say,
"rough." It lurches when I down shift from say 3rd to 2nd, not matter how slow or gently I let out the clutch. It's not a bad lurch, but more of a jolt forward and back.

Well, with the info here, I guess I will have to go out and practice. Thanks again.

You have to rev match to smoothly downshift, meaning pushing the accelerator to get the RPMs up and letting the clutch out at the right time so engine speed and tranny speed are similar. Just letting the clutch out will make it lurch everytime.

I don't understand why everyone doesn't do this, I've ridden with a few people, and it's sooo annoying if you don't revmatch, when I drive, you can't even feel the shifts.
One girl who rode in the back had to ask if it was automatic or stick, lol.

It's real easy to rev match while not on the brakes. I've been practicing lately revmatching while braking. I'm sorta getting the hang of it.

wow i didn't know what heel-toe was but i just searched. Its damn nuts. Thats damned near impossible without a lot of practice, but i can see how it is really worth it once you get it down.

Damned near impossible? It's pretty much second nature for me.
