 Yup, use those receipts. Also, do a search on eBay. An '88 2-door 5-speed iX sold on there two weeks ago for $6400. Print that auction out. Present it all to your insurance company. You should be able to get full value for the car.

 I dont know how it all works but you should sue the driver, that is completely rediculous how drunk he was. $10000 lawsuit for emotional distress, loss of work, i'm sure you can come up with a bunch. it would give you some good mod money, and $10k isnt much for an insurance company. They will dick you around when they price out your car. See if you can have a classic car appraiser look it over and talk with him about everything you did, receipts, etc.Comment
