The Audi R8

Its just a gallardo. Nothing more than that. This is in NO WAY an audi product.

I thought Audi was responsible for the development of the Gallardo. You have to admit the Lambos have become much better cars once Audi became involved...

It's going to be Porsche vs. Audi, which is going to be just like the Phaeton flop when VW tried to compete against itself (in the form of Audi).

The only reason the Phaeton was a flop is because a large majority of well to do people can not see themselves in a VW, not because it was a lesser car that could not compete with other cars in its segment (typical VW group gremlins aside). Audi has a rich racing heritage and a sublime present-day effort which will draw enthusiasts. Lambo and P cars will still command the same market share based on brand equity if, nothing else.

This car will probably sell like DBs and porsches... different market, it's a performance/luxury car... plus Audi has come a long way in terms of fit an finish and quality with the latest cars... imho

They should slap on a full width windshield, detune the engine and suspension, add a passenger seat and sell the real deal, instead of a castrated Gallardo.

I just came across the mini site and liked the use of flash, and the car sounds nice from all the spy videos. I don't think it should be compared to a Lambo either, but we'll see what sort of price tag it gets. The thing that bugs me is the side flap thing, it should be body color unless you really want it to stick out like a sore thumb, the carbon fiber doesn't look bad, but the silver on a dark silver car looks silly.

The torsen center differential will bias torque from 50/50 to 40/60 when needed. 414hp can't disappoint either.

Ah, point taken. I remember the original Quattros just wreaking havoc on the competition in the early eighties, and I forgot about the Evos and WRXs...

The M3 will be the E92. I would still have to go with the RS4, all the way. I love BMW's, and the M3 is a badass. But I would rather have the RS4.

I thought the E92 was the 328/335 coupe... anyway, RS4 over the new M3? I'll be going to my local Audi dealer for a test drive :D
