    Rare M3 Build

    Hello guys-
I have displayed interest to the seller of the M3 here on our board, now on page 2 of the Classifieds. It says that it has many Alpina pieces on the car such as the hood fenders and what not. I was not firmiliar with an Alpina M3 so I did my research. The Alpina M3 B6 3.5s I beleive it is called was only prodoced 66 times, I beleive so it is an incredibly rare car. However the car for sale is NOT this. I am not trying to say that. My question is would it be a wise investment to buy this car with the Alpina pieces, fully conver to Alpina, badges, body work and what not. As it sits not it needs body work, so why not look into this as a possibility. A clone I guess it would be called. What are your thoughts on this, and if this is wise from an investors stand point. I know info on these cars is rare so if anyone has info please share if not just for knoweldge. Thank you.

waste of money. Alpina parts are over priced.

The car is always going to be a clone and it will not greatly increase the value of the car.

Alpina didnt redo the hoods and fenders. That sounds shady from the start. Guy might be trying to pull a carreraboy on you.

Oh really, hah that makes me alittle more cautious. Have you seen the thread, maybe you can shed alittle light. I am sure this is an over anxious idea, money wise probably not a good idea, but it would be pretty cool to own.

vlaids is vladimir londo who has the S2000 and was the subject of much redicule halfway through this year until he was banned on BF.c and moved to td.f

Not the same dude as carreraboy who had the red alpina rep.

The B6 3.5s was based on a standard E30 M3 shell with no Alpina add ons to note beside the deko kit stripes which were a no cost option. To make a true clone would be senseless if you started with an M3 that had a good running S14, as the S14 would be removed in place of a M30 3.5 like the 3.5s's had. If someone really wanted to make a clone it would be best to start with a E30 M3 shell. As Ryan mentioned this whole sale sounds shady when the seller claims it had an Alpina hood and fenders?????

Modding a car, which is what you will be doing, should never be considered an 'investment'.;-)

                        you speak the truth.

I've never considered doing an ROI analysis for a vehicle. Truthfully I've always considered any money spent on a vehicle to be mostly a loss with little return on the sale. Personally I would prefer letting the money sit in well diversified stocks and funds.

I guess if you can find a rare care for a steal, then maybe you've got an investment?

Bone stock, well maintained E30 M3s are going up in value. Highly modded ones are not.

not trying to be an ass, but damn, learn how to read!!!!!!!!
IT SAYS ALPINE (WHITE) HOOD AND FENDERS!!!!
so many here to jump in, but none to look first.

soo, ALPINE is a color(alpinewite) not ALPINA
by the way, it seems a bit expensive to me, but i really dont know what they are selling for in the U.S. right now.
I have learned, the more you spends in the begining of a project, the less you have to spend later, and it WILL come out cheaper in the end.

Someday, I'm going to buy an M3.

Maybe I should do that when I'm done with my coop and internships next year, rather than save the 16 some grand I'll make.

                              LOL...hmm. :D
