I'm sure its about half of either of those. For my 325i it didnt make too much of a difference, but then again its automatic.Originally posted by M42TecknikWow I thought it was 10hp/11ft-lbs.Originally posted by LikeCDooson TMS's website it says 12hp/16ft-llbsOriginally posted by MikesJoWhat are the gains w/ a M42 motor?
I guess my E28 535i will have to suffice now :D

I emailed Jim. For his friend's 325is, he said he remembered HP gain at peak was ~10, so it moved the curve from 167hp to 177hp, similar with torque, ~10/11. Peak gains might have been 15/16, but they were along other portions of the powerband.
Huge difference. :D I really love it.
Dinan had the same feeling at WOT, but a light cruising it doesn't have the OOMPH. But it was easier on the MPG. Different strokes for different folks.Comment

i've got a Bav Auto chip in my ETA & love it.... i'm still waiting to do a direct comparison on a JC chip.... Beirbrennere30 has a JC chip in his eta & whenever we get the chance we're gonna swap ECU's & do some independant testing 8)-Pete

I wasn't too impressed with my bavauto 325i chip, but it definetly increased the grunt and pull after 3500rpm, and the extra bit of rev limit is nice. plus I got it used so it was cheap, and they don't have a JC chip listed for the 526ecuComment

The accurate gain can be described as 'negligible'BEERTECH
