Yea, I've had the passport 8500 since I started driving and I haven't been pulled over in 2 years. You can get them off ebay for like $270 new.
Isn't there like a Passport 9500 too? Like the newest model?
Is there a way to hard-wire the detector into your car, with like sensors or something up in your grill and on the back of the car? Or are you stuck mounting it on the windshield?
The screen on it is right next to the rear view mirror, so its just like looking in the mirror. I hardly ever have to look at it though because the different radar bands have different sounds. So I can tell by the sound if its a false alarm, close cop, or a hiding cop with instant on.

For $270 I would take the passport. In all the test the V1 has won its by a slim margin and I dont really care about where the radar is coming from, I just slow down.
Dude just get a detector. Coming down from Wichita once I had my dads Escort and it went off so I slowed down, a mile later it went off again, and then a mile later I came over a hill and coming the other direction were three of them in a small pack and they hit me with instant on. If I hadnt have slowed down I would have been nailed.
I think there are kits for the Bell system that has remote sensors you hook up in the dash and abovethe liscence plate.
I recently got my tax refund from Uncle Sam and I plan on getting one of these. I've heard so many good things about them....and I'm sure it will save my butt from my constant heavy right-footed habbits.
This option is really a no-brainer. Spend ~$400 on a V1, or $500 on a Honduh :P
