    Oh, Hi Walter

Makes me want to go detail my car, mine's not red, but I hear the royalblue turns out pretty good with a detail.

Thanks again for all the kind words, guys. I will be sure to pass that on to Joe.

The pic really does not do justice to the difference. It won't be done in buffing 'till saturday. I hope to have all the trim painted by then, so we can reassemble sunday.

I just wish I has a set of M3 springs to put on it...so she wouldn't notice that I "lowered" it.

"Honey, I think the suspension is lowering itself!"

        She wants it stock. Dammit!

Damn, thats a transformation for sure.

My blue paint did the same thing. It was so oxidized that it was basically a purple-ish grey and completely flat.

              Quick update...but no pics, yet.

I am almost done repainting the trim. It looks great so far. Buffing is basically complete, so it shines all over. When done, it gets a full detail.

I fucked around with the motor a bit last night. Whacked the starter with a hammer...voila, it started!

Seems to run pretty damn good too. Nasty milkshake in the oil, no coolant at all though. I added water, just to see what is going on in there.

I am gonna drain the thing, add fresh oil, do a thorough compression test, possibly a leakdown test too. Maybe this motor is salvageable?

It has WAY less clatter than mine...valves sound great! Injectors are sure noisy. Time to find a set of 14.5lb 4 pintle to make it quieter.

              Good news!

What product(s) did your buddy use ? I want to try and buff some scratches out of my paint, tried doing it by hand but only the lighter ones came out....

I was about to ask this aswell. Today I helped my buddy clay bar his car and wax it and it made a difference indeed but not as amazing as I expected it to be. We used Mothers CA Gold clay bar kit and Zynol wax.

                      Is this true?
When I detailed my royalblau vert it turned out nice for a bit.
But I don't know how much one can do with it because royalblau is two-stage.

Wax won't "cut" paint like that, you need varying degrees of polishing/cutting compounds. You start with a high cut compound and work your way down to a finishing compound, then you wax/and or seal the car.

3M rubbing compound, Matt. Then the show polish, then the wax. But first the clay bar. The one time I used Zymol, I didnt like it at all. I have tons of the shit but am not going to use it.

Yea, Usually you want to wash the car (duh), claybar, machine polish, some sort of hand polish and then a hand wax/sealer. I have had really good luck with 3m Rubbing compounds, meguires clay and griots best of show wax.

Matt, you see the paint on both my cars in person. Would I lead you in the wrong direction?? I have all this stuff along with a random orbit buffer. For a beer fee Id be happy to show you.

Man, love the moss growing on it. haha. Great fixer up project you have there and the price was fantastic. 3 months it will be the envy of many, and oh such nice paint once it's sealed.
