    318is Magnaflow Exhaust Video Clip

Had a Supersprint. Loved the quality and performance. Was not too keen on the nice slightly louder than stock sound, even at WOT.

For months Ive been on the fence on what to do, keep it, change it, keep it....

I looked at the Dynomax, Borla but settled on a Magnaflow on the basis of a sound clip featuring a custom M Coupe install.

This Magnaflow is easily 4x as loud as the SS. Nice burble at idle and it has a wonderfull raspy scream at WOT.

    Magnaflow 11235
    4x9 Oval
    Offset/Offset 2.25" inlet/outlets
Custom 2.25" tubing all the way back

    Heres a video clip:

Dibs on the Supersprint if you haven't sold it already?

But that Managflow sounds incredible...and great editing! The fading car to it pulling right up next to the camera, good editing skillz. Pinnacle?
    Reminiscing...

      Dan,

      PM sent.

Video Editing Software is Nova Developments Video Expolsion. Video Explosion was formerly owned by Sonic Foundry who called the software Video Factory.

$80 editing software available at Staples. 2 video tracks, with 3 audio tracks. GUI and controls are much like editing software costing much much more, but much simpler to use.

      Thanks for the kind word.

Magnaflow is a universal muffler that has the be welded in.

Sounds good. I will have to listen to it again louder (Im at work), to see how your system compares to mine.

Why offset in/outlets on the muffler, Mario?

            I'm ignorant, not criticizing :D

I don't get the obsession with loud exhaust. maybe that's because I drove a '67 dart with deafeningly-loud 40 series flowmasters for 5 years.

personally I think SS sounds perfect.. I like being able to hear my music on the freeway! 8)

ps unplug that annoying door gong!

:!: I've been lookin' at Flowmasters --- what're those 40-series like? How loud are they, really?

I see all these different models, but it's hard to tell how loud they are just by the description, y'know?

Like they have 40-series, they have 40-series Delta Flow which is s'posed to be slightly quieter, etc....

                Any help?

40 series are real loud, got em on my mustang, with straight pipes to them, even with cats they would still be loud. i dont think it would sound that nice on an e30, imo- dan

How loud is the 40-series Delta Flow, y'think?

They make a 60-series which is s'posed to be for imports w/ 4- and 6-cylinders...

... any idea how loud that is?

My car is a track car, primarily --- not my daily.

it depends on the motor really.. but they were pretty damn loud. when I started my car in the morning you could hear it at the other end of the street! it was also very loud inside the car at highway speeds. the lower series numbers are generally louder, so a 60 series would be quieter than a 40 series. I had an H pipe with dual 2.5" pipes, I also had headers but never got them in. the motor wasn't extremely radical, but it made the 325i seem pretty anemic, especially in the torque department. That said, I don't miss the dart at all.

keep in mind this was many years ago and they have made changes to their mufflers a few times since then.

the delta flows are def quiter than the regular ones, ive only heard them on v8's though, im not sure how theyd work on our cars, im sure they wouldnt sound bad, but def louder than the ss and the more quiet mufflers... i think theyd be a little bit quiter than the bb or brullen i think they call em?... -dan
