Tom, it's an instructor clinic put on by the ACA/PCA. It's is for people who want to become instructors.

55 miles on the new clutch.

I'd never heard of a clutch break in period. I just drove normally - of course I was also breaking in a new engine at the same time. clutch has been working wonderfully. I never even tried a clutch dump until I had like 3,000 miles on it though.

I just drove like a granny for the first few hundred miles. No clutch dumps for probably a couple thousand miles.
I just pulled my clutch again last week because my tranny dried.
After two years (20,000 miles) of driving on that clutch, you can still see the logo and part number printed on the clutch disc!

it was weird, it felt.... "extra buttery smooth"... not just new, but ... what i'd imagine a buick or cadillac with a clutch to feel like.

It's one of the few jobs I had a shop do - middle of winter, i wasn't about to lay on the below-freezing garage floor :p OE Sachs clutch kit, pressure plate, TOB, the works, including a new TOB guide sleeve.

thats what i ordered. seems like a good kit and everyone on here is very happy with sachs. 200 with free shipping from BMP, i also got my vacuum line kit. and found a VDO vacuum guage for 20 bucks. figured why not.

problem is i cant find a single guage pod for an e30. i may buy a single a pillar guage pod for an e36 and just fab it to fit my car.
