i had some 5w40 synthetic in my car and then i got really low so i added all i had..pennzoil 10w40. is that really bad to mix them? do i need to drain it all out?

No not really.. Although its not adviseable to mix up the oil on purpose, if you were simply topping of the level there is nothing to be concerned about. The only time you really need to be concerned is if you live in a climate that has extreme temperatures because the odd quart will affect the performance of the rest of the oil. Like if you were running with 5-30 or 0-30 because you lived in the upper midwest and then you put a quart of 10-40 in it you have made the oil slightly thicker. -
Id do an oil change the next time you get a chance. Not a big deal for short term use.:: PNW Crew ::
