Remove Car Dents With Dry Ice

As far as I know, and what I've heard, it's only really effective on black cars.
It seems logical that this method works because it causes the metal to contract severely and pop back into shape, and sorta lose the memory of the new shape. I doubt it has much to do with the color, but I guess there could be something to that.'88 528e /// '88 M5 /// '89 951 /// '98 E430 /// '02 M5

It's got to do with how much memory the metal holds.
I can't remember the technical explanation, but as metal ages...ah shit, I can't remember the non-technical explanation either! but someone explained it when I first asked about how easily I'd be able to remove the dent.
EDIT:
hmm, well this is the reply...I guess it had to do with corrosion. I don't know if age really does matter whether the dent will come out?
"Just a reminder, when metal gets bent the damaged area becomes anodic. The more the metal is stressed (extreme dent, especially along a rib) the more anodic it is. What this means is that the damaged area, eventhough it has been straightened out, will be the first spot to rust out. The residual stress of the metal will promote it's corrosion. If you decide to not fix the door for a while at least paint over any areas that may have paint chipped / flaked off. Even after you paint it that spot on the door will be the most prone to corrosion."Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!

Works, my dad used to take dings out of his Trans Am's in the 70's with it. With the left over dry ice we used to make dry ice bombs. Chunk it put it in a bottle and then poor a reasonable amount of water into the bottle and cap it. Toss it into a brook or stream or pond the water reacts with the dry ice expands and burst the bottle.
Be careful.
