Take a really close look at the closeup picture of the turbo. The welds are garbage, the pipe that goes to the inlet of the turbine side (what would normally be the "header") is cracking all the way around, is severely cracked where it meets the flange, and the turbo is literally loose. You can see a large gap on the left side of the flange where the bolts are clearly coming loose.

Good concept.... Terrible execution. Someone paid way too much money I'm sure to some "reputable" shop that really doesn't know a damn about fabrication.

    Anyway, the car looks cool.

        +1

That thing is a pile of shit, their is a ten page thread on bimmerforums ripping this thing to shit. A twin turbo m5 should be putting down a lot more power with twin turbo's. Anybody can build a faster, nicer m5 with a hundred grand on top of the car. Cool idea, but aligator interior, asanti wheels, this car is a poor build. Somewhere in the thread on bimmerforums they point out their is duct tape on one of the fittings that goes to the turbo.

        Just my ,

It looks like that exhaust flange isn't even bolted tight enough.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who isn't impressed. I wonder if they even really tuned it, or just let the ecu do its thing. I would think that there would be lots of lag, but those turbos are about the size of a scrotum so maybe... just maybe... it might reach boost in a fashionable amount of time.

That setup wont last for over a year with that header tape. Its going to rust out in no time. He doesn't even have enough sense to ceramic coat it.

and a $250,000 premium over a regular M5?! i guess he only needs to sell 1 or 2 to turn a profit.
One should pay the bills for quite some time at any average shop. That build should have cost 25k MAYBE 35k over the stock price.

Oh, and about lag, surprisingly (I was too), those STS-style systems can make some serious power without a ton of lag. It's kind of like cheating the laws of physics.... ; )

I was skeptical when I saw the chromed wheels, moreso with the aligator or whateverskin interior.

When i saw the rear mounted turbos is when I closed the tab.
