And the fact that there's a humongous battery up there.Originally posted by Nate325icthe engine bay is the exact same size, the only difference is the 2 inches between the strut tower and the fender there is a small support, everything else is identical

Cab's are great fun....and the 200-300lb diff between a 325i hardtop and a 325i cab is hardly noticeable. Afterall, neither are light cars, nor are they sports cars.
The only diff in the cab engine bay is the battery located there & the strut support.
Cons: cost of replacing the worn top, seals, etc
Pros: it's a convertible....rest of it is the same as the hardtop, except you get much better interiors (ie Cab/M3 leather sport seats frt & back) and usually the best options available.
If you find a cab in good condition (mechanically & body speaking) and with a good top then there are no cons IMO.
Enjoy!!

the battery doesn't take any of the room the actual engine would take up

I drive my iC hard every now and then and feel safe doing so. My car is pretty low to the ground and I don't see it flipping unless I go into a ditch or I get t-boned.
I LOVE my 325iC. I had a 1989 325is before. The 325iC is so much more fun. I had to drive the iC this past winter due to problems with my winter car. I didn't notice any difference in temperature between the 325is and the 325iC.
There is NOTHING like the feel of wind in your hair and the sun on your neck.
I would definately pick a 325iC over a 325is. I plan on buying another coupe to keep the convertible out of the winter though.
Let us know what you decide! If you have any other questions, ASK! There are plenty of iC owners here.Current BMW's:
