i understand the eta hating to a point... but i drive one and i love it, chip it, lower it, lsd...and it will be all you need. it's About the driver, period.

I hate mine, but it could be that it is an automatic, and had more water in the floorboards that the atlantic ocean.
but it is great for the fact that if i crash it, I wount be upset.

It's a great daily. the only difference is the engine. I get great mpg, not fast or quick really, but plenty of power to merge and accellerate on the freeway, turns and handles like an i, just slower, and they can be found on the cheap as well as parts. I just don't try to make it fast...

There is nothing wrong with an eta. They get great gas mileage, they won't blow up even if you try to (I've been trying to blow something up under my hood for the past 4 years, it just won't give). I ran a 16.3 with ridiculous wheel hop and shitty street tires. Most 325i's run mid 15's to 16's, and that's with a 3.73. I find that torque below 3k rpm's to be great for autoxing, I just throw it in second, it doesn't have a "powerband", it just makes it's max power at all times. Never have to worry about being in the wrong gear or at the wrong rpm's to make power.

I love my Chipped ETA. Bulletproof, good mileage, very usable torque curve. Just enough power for Auto-x and twisty roads. Get a suspension and chip then you will <3 ETAs.
