With those tires, you'll have gap no matter what springs you get. With coilovers low enough to eliminate you fender gap, you'll be riding on the bumpstops. Offset is too low on those wheels also, IMO.
HAHA Yeah I hear you. I'm just going to rock the 15's for now and save up for a set of 16's later. I dig the offset but its a matter of preference. I think the next setup will be 205 45 16 in that area. Its just for daily driving and stuff so the stretch on the 15's isn't a big worry.
Question... Is it harmful to the stock shock If I installed the ie3's? Where are you guys getting your bilstein sport shocks from. Who has the best deals? And are the ie3's better then the H&R's?
you just need to make sure you get the shorter shocks. Any sales rep should be able to help you get the right shocks for whatever springs you end up purchasing
I have been reading and reading and looks like there are alot of mixed reviews but that is typical given everyone has a different application. Anyways. I was thinking of this combo...
gc coilover with koni's?
gc coilover with bilsteins?
those will probably give me a good adjustably.
also the "kw" or the ST springs...but there $400 and I would rather just go with gc since they can be adjusted and are in the same price range.
I hear good things about the ie3's but I might want a little more adjustably.
Let me know what you guys are thinking.
Thanks
Oh and links and stuff to good online shops would be greatly appreciated.
For now I would like something simple and cheap that gives me a solid stance for daily driving, but I know later down the road Im going to want something crazier, and built more for the track (Im stupid like that)lol.
Cheapest way to get slammed is to just stack up a 2nd bump stop on the shock shafts and leave the springs out. It'll be stiff enough for track that way too.

yeah hope that ^^^^ was a joke, if not I would hate to be your car :(.
Would it be ok to rock the ie3's on the stock shocks for a week or so?
dude im on stocks right now, its fine. i've talked to people that have ran them for 8 months. just a really bouncy right. and they will blow pretty quickly.
if your looking for a cheaper alternative to bilsteins you can go kyb gas adjust. they work with lowering springs and its a stiffer shock than the stock so it will improve handling still. everyone on here swears by bilstein but if your on a budget (like me) you cant go that expensive all the time.
i think kyb's will be fine. and they're 150 for all 4.. cant really beat the price.
I did it for like 6 months, but I'd definately say don't run them forever, it sucked.
HAHA, yeah not sure Im gonna start my first mods on my e30 like that. I just cant stand the stock ride height lol. Im looking at a pair of kw springs and shocks off tunershop. Anyone hear or know anything about them? From what little I could get off the forums only a few people rock the kw's with the 60/40 rake look and they love them. I guess I will just have to give them a try :)
I don't think you'd be happy with the IE3's stance, low in the back, gap in the front.
I don't see where everyone gets this idea that IE3's have this "reverse rake" issue. Maybe it's just on late models because of the lower rear arches, but my car looks fucking baller on them.

That topic has been discussed over and over before. You are absolutely correct on the rear arches theory.

Damn thats odd. My buddies 91 e30 had a super dumped rear and a gap in the front he has bilsteins as well. I guess you win some and you lose some. I am leaning towards the 60/40's. I dig the rake look and if its to low I can always raise it a little with pads and stuff. I don't want the infamous oil pan disappearance trick happening to me lol.
