Do you ever get completely bored of your car?

I think I might be bored of my car. After coming out of the 2.5L M3, the bone stock(and rediculously pretty, well maintained, and low mileage) 325is just isn't too much fun to drive. It's way to nice to modify or autocross, and I feel guilty about driving the damn thing hard. All I really do is put around in it and show it off. I can't remember the last time I went above 5k rpm.

It doesn't need hardly anything maintenencewise, so I never have anything to tinker with. Since I sort planning to find another M3 this summer anyway(although of this I am not certain), it wouldn't make any sense to spend money on the 325is. I almost thought about replacing/trading it with something...but I don't know if I could bring myself to do it.

Does anyone else ever run into this situation? How do I solve it haha?

I get overwhelmed with my cars... having 4 living 50 miles from 3 of them and going to school full time with living in a dorm currently (sub 2 months left) :D

Stop driving the M3 for a while and drive the 325is.

I never get bored with my car. But then again, this is indeed the fastest most powerful and best handling car I have ever had. I get plenty of enjoyment out of it because I use it as a daily driver and occasionally drive it hard. Its in 80% of its original condition and even though I am striving for 100% things go wrong and thing get broken from driving the car on a regular basis.

If I concern myself with making my car a museum exhibit, I will never enjoy it as much as I will from driving it. Certainly you wouldn't want dings, dents, or scratches on your car if the body and paint is showroom new, however, keeping your car out of the real world is not as exciting as driving it everywhere. I choose to have fun with my car. I can preserve it, but for what? Keeping it up on the shelf is not as fun as redlining it.

From time to time I sense a bit of boredom developing with my car. Usually around that time I will drive a friends' car (something Japanese or American) and that's all it takes to renew my E30 interest.

I don't know.. I have a blast in my car every time I drive it, I'm surprised with something new all the time. but I'm not afraid to drive it hard - that's what it's meant for. I do try to baby it on the street (there's no real reason to race light to light) but I stretch its legs out every chance I get.

There's always more to learn - maybe you're just boring yourself as a driver.

I sold the M3 a few months back. The M3 had seen better days and I just wanted a fresh start with a clean 2.3 L. I've been daily driving the 325is since then. It was supposed to be a transition car between M3's, but I decided to wait a while and put some time in between cars so I wouldn't be so anxious to jump on the first M3 that came my way.

I think its just knowing that the car is super nice and that I'm not going to keep it for too much longer just makes me way more timid behind the wheel. No sense in dropping a grand on suspension if I'm only going to own it 6 more months.

Shift, spend some time driving a bone stock 1988 Astro. Preferably forsest green, like my work van. 10 to 15 minuites should do. Go around some corners, both left and right. Try a quick paralell park.

Let me know how much you like the E30 after that, OK?

Go to a car salesman, get yourself a Daewoo Racer 1.4 automatic (like i drove) then drive it for a couple of months, then reply this post. :)

I live, eat, and breathe BMW... It's just not really possible to get bored. If I get bored with my 533i (definitely the easiest to get bored with) I just turn my attention to the 335i or the Euro 635CSi (x2 lol). The 335i is gone soon, and one of the 6ers is gonna be gone, but my 5 is my daily driver so I don't mind much if she's a little boring. The new 6er though, that should keep me occupied for a long while. If I get bored once these two are sorted, I'll get a 928S or another Alfa Milano V6!

Stop waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles footing around in it and get on it once in awhile;)
That should get rid of the boredom. If that doesn't help try
renting a chevy cobalt for a weekend.

Exactly how I feel about my E30s. Eventually, I want to purchase an X5, Range Rover or maybe even a fully loaded Discovery and have the E30s for fun...

yea i get bored with my m42, but i def won't be bored with it when it is fixed again. having both of my cars broken, and having to drive a slow benz around is enough to make you appreciate your bmw greatly.
