Need HELP: Key locked in car w/ trunk open

Well this is now the second time my dad locked the only key to the winter beater ETA in the car. The first time he broke the rear side window because he was in a parking lot w/ the car running.

Here's the deal this time the car is here and the trunk is open so I'm wondering IF there is a way to unlock the central lock from some where in the latch?????????

I really dont feel like replacing ANOTHER rear side window (Although its really quick to do)

yeah stick your finger in the hole where your central locking system is for the trunk. slide the tiny rail up i think maybe its down. either way it will unlock all the doors.

I have spare windows so that wasn't gonna bother me too much BUT OFCOURSE I'd rather spend time doing something else like new plugs that I'm putting in as we speak

You can also jump the wires from the central locking harness in the trunk to actuate the locks... that is, if the other method fails for some reason.

Call me ignorant but I assumed that most european cars and especially german cars have a mechanism in the door locks that prevented you from locking it while the door was open thus keeping you from locking your keys in the car.

I hope you had another key made by now.

In a four door, with your car running, close the front doors and lock them, through your rear door, then lock it and close it, see it's easy (I did it once).

I guess in a two door you lock the drivers door when closed through the passenger door and then lock that one, shut it and presto!!!!.

Ok it's not easy, but some of us have done it.

Now the trunk stunt i don't get, he locked all four doors and went out the trunk reinstalling the rear backrest ??????

My drivers side door lets me lock all the doors when the door is open. /shrug.
