unbiasedly... it is pretty universally known and agreed upon the the early-mid 90's was when quality or interior materials, fit and finish started their downturn for BMW (which continues today to an extent) and the E36 is no exception. I was never hot on the E36 in terms of aesthetcially even before I was into cars/BMWs/E30s. I truly doubt Ill see any 300K mile E46's. I could go on about this, but I assume you al understand me and feel similar. Im always on my soapbox about this on other BMW forums where the majority of members own newer BMWs and theyre more concerned with ICE than CR.

how much lighter is the e30?
and so it's true that the e36's are not as reliable, eh?
what's a fair price for a 325i that's in good running condition and doesn't need work for a while?1985 325e

^really?
i sort of thought that with less mileage, it would have less problems.
i have a 325e with over 200,000 miles, and it has a slew of problems, including the odometer, which stopped at 213.1985 325e

I got into the e30 because it was the best bang for the buck, and all I wanted to afford at the time. But now that I've done the suspension, z3 rack, wheels and sport seats I've really come to love the balance and driving charactaristics of the e30.
Even now that I'm making more money, I dont really want an e36. They are ok - faster, better high-speed stability - but I get my kicks at lower speeds anyway, under 120mph. The e36 doesnt have much character either and the dash is ugly.
At this point, i'd rather have an e30 m3 than an e36 or even an e46 m3, seriously.
Actually, the only other practical bmw i want is an X5. Impractical nod would have to go to the e39 m5.
