When we first got the car and I would bring it into work to work on it, people would tell me to sell it because I was wasting my time and money. Now when I bring it in and open the hood, I get compliments on how clean it is and what a nice E30 I have. Such a satisfying feeling. Nice work, Luke!!
PS...Mariano, I'll clean your engine like that, but not for free. :psigpicComment

So, in the future, I am not gonna bother making lists of shit remaining to be done. I am just gonna post pics on R3V and you guys make the lists for me!
She is just loving it, BTW. Purrrrrrrs as smooth as any M20 I have ever heard. I can hear just the tiniest squeak coming from the alternator...so sweet.

I fixed the oil cap today.
I put a fresh antenna gasket.
I replaced the IVC, but could not find the retainer.
That is all of the time I could pry the car away from her.

Man, I am super impressed by the work going into this car. Once it's "all done" you definately need a thread with before and after of each part of the car! The exterior was an even larger transformation. Budget restoration ftw.Comment

Waterpump hose to gooseneck clip not clipped together. Seriously sloppy work...j/k. What type of cleaners did you use or did you have the head hot tanked?Comment

I scrubbbed everything I could find with a toothbrush and that Castrol Degreaser, the purple stuff. I then pressure washed it. The IM and VC got cheapass Duplicolor "Cast Aluminum" spray paint, then everything else got cleaned and reassembled.
Ain't nothing there but cleaning, painting and resealing. Head got pressure tested, resurfaced and new valve guide seals. Tanked, too.
I bought the car for $500 (LOTS of you guys gave me shit when I posted the pics, too) Headwork was $125, gaskets and misc small parts was $200, spent about $60 at the stealer buying new Roundels, lower radiator mounts, injector O rings (forgot on the BMA order), basic maintenence stuff.
Figure another $100 in miscellaneous stuff.
Soon as I am done with the stereo/alarm, I will do a full shoot. Next winter it gets a repaint. Sometime soon the seats get reupholstered. She hates my Sports, I was gonna go leather, but she said no...and it is a chick car, believe me.
Haven't told any of you about the wheels yet...it is a secret. All I will say is 16X8 looks great with Ventus 225/45/16.
