thats why i try at least 89, 87 gives you like no power, and other gas stations besides chevron and shell, lowest i go is 76, gas seems like crap, almost half water...... i know arco is one of the worst, they got caught a few years ago putting so much crap in their gas so they could sell more gas, and make more profit, i dont even mis with that

Its pretty much all the same except for certain additives that might be noticeable in some vehicles- For instance you have Hostess Cupcakes and then you have the generic off-brand cupcakes. The recipies and the flavor of both products are similar and they are essentially the same product from ingredients that came from the same source but the hostess cupcakes takes much better.

thats crazy unless you arent stock.
                old 86 e: 87 octane stock, 91 after mods...preferably chevron. sometimes 105 VP, but never noticed a difference :)
bronco II: who cares, it sure as hell dont, lol
sportster 883: 91, dont care about the brand. any less and it pings
trans am: owners manual even TELLS you to use 91 or better, so I do. besides, its only another 3 bucks a tank

all in all, chevron IS a better gas...but the rest will do just fine. you will get carbon whether you want it or not. carbon isnt all that bad anyways, it increases compression :D

i use arco on a regular basis, its not as bad as everybody thinks it is. basically just stay away from random off name brand stations. And not to burst anyones bubble, but ive seen a 76 truck topping off a chevron station before...maybe they were desperate?

Its a matter of profit moreso than despiration. Gas is gas regardless of the brand. I have seen some of the no-name distributors delivering gas at the Exxon station while I have also seen the little mom & pop roadside gas stations get their supply from the Exxon truck. Also its not uncommon to find an Exxon tanker truck being filled at an Amoco refinary simply because it's cheaper to buy the gas wholesale from a competitor thats local than to ship it half way across the country.

when im low on cash i use 91 by itself....when i have a little to spare, i usually mix trick101 with chevron 91....or if i feel baller ill mix 101 91 and vp109 from my shop...but mixing 91 with 101 does help alot with the pinging. like it makes it go away, and i feel safer with the turbo. but why does it have to be 7.50 a gallon? i remember when it was like 3.50 and we were all complaining....FAWK. time to make more monies, wheres my gun
