good forum for e38 7 series

My dad want to find a good, reliable forum for his e38 740il. If anyone knows any besides bimmerforums.com that would be great. Thanks

Have him check out http://www.e38.org. I just tried accessing it and the page wouldn't come up - maybe their server is tweaking. It exists - just check on it later I suppose.

Hah yeah. that thing is HUGE. actually he just got it for my mom and he needs to find some info for it. it rides really nice on the freeway though. good for the long roadtrips. and actually she is the captain. haha

E38.org was pretty good. Is there anything in particular he wants to know? I've worked on so many I may know off the top of my head.

Well he just had the timing chain replaced which i heard wasnt too unusual for those cars. but he mainly wants to know for future reference. he was also looking for some m-parallels or replicas for his car too. i looked a few places but he wants them for pretty cheap. thanks

I don't think that e38 and cheep can be used in the same sentence.

I need you to chill in my trunk.

When I have a question or problem I want you to pop out and have some answers for me. These damm E38's are pretty complex.

I might need you at the track too when I take the M3 8-10 times a year.

You can check tire temps and pressure............

Questions I can answer. Tire pres and temps I'll worry about on my own M3 which gets its own fair share of track time.

And to answer the question about the timing chain- I've never seen one break or stretch to the point of needing replacement and I've worked on many M62s with well over 200k miles. Oil pump chains, yes, but never a timing chain.
