That's purely what they're made for - driving on the highway, flashing big silly chrome rims, and doing 60mph down my 2-block residential street with the MPG readout pegged on 1. That photo is the first time I've seen one anywhere near dirt. Might as well just buy a Chevy pickup if you want to go flog it....same damn thing, without being so incredibly ostentatious. I'm with Josh on this one...

haha! Yeah the old tie rod video. I know the guy in the video. The tie rods are a weak point on the H2 if you take it off road. Many of us have upgraded to larger stronger tie rods. If you search hard enough you can find a video of every 4X4 truck breaking something or appearing to be stuck in a easy point of a trail. I get 10-14 MPG in town....it is the same as I got with me GMC 2500 with a 6.0.
The H2 is not the same as a Chevrolet truck, granted many parts are the same, and the chopped up platform is from a suburban 3/4 ton. That said, put the same size tires on a suburban or Chevrolet truck, with no other modifications and the H2 will prevail each time. Bring it to the next level, remove the Chevrolet from the situation, and add a Jeep Rubicon, and the H2 is going to look like a fish out of water.
My H2 has probably been off the road equal to the time it has been on the road. I enjoy it. I also enjoyed my Wrangler I had before as well. I do not think I am going to stay in the HUMMER world much longer though. With my career path I am begining to spend some more time doing highway. Right now I am looking at STi's. Who knows...I never can make up my mind! lolLast edited by VAPORBLADE; 06-30-2007, 08:12 AM.'89 "is" = M technic II build mode.

I'm not really interested in how they drive. They're ugly, oversized, overweight, retarded looking pigs. They get such horrible gas mileage that they're not even mandated by the EPA for estimated fuel consumption.
Oh, and I forgot to add this:

You have seriously got to be FUCKING kidding me. Ford makes one, too. The ONLY reason I could ever see that you would need to own one of these is if you were towing a huge trailer or something else of equal magnitude several times a week. But instead, I see all these dipshit contractors around here driving them, never with anything behind them, and they're usually little short guys, too. The ultimate Small Man Complex vehicle.Comment

first id like to say i work at a ford dealership
that being said ford will make an f650 with no bed, they don't put the regular truck bed on them, aftermarket companies do that
also i drive used cars all day so i have been in/ driven most of the cars that have been shown in this threadYour signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

The fuel millage is reported due to weight, not what they receive for MPG. As you must know, big oil and the US gov are in bed, so they can get away with it. Hence the loopholes for large SUV's, the destruction of most to all EV's that many car manufactures came out with. That said, 10-14MPG is what I get in my H2, and what I got in my GMC 2500 truck...so you can add them to your list. The census reports that 1 out of 10 people that drive a truck, truly need a truck.'89 "is" = M technic II build mode.

Thats the whole reason I sold my 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sahara....gas mileage. I was getting 10mpg, 12mpg highway, and got sick of spending that much when I drive soo much. I get 25mpg city and about 31mpg highway with the 01 325Ci, and its more relaible and comfrotable. I bought it at the beggining of last November with 75k on the clock, and its at 94k already LOL01 325Ci

Anything with a torque converter. If it doesn't have three pedals it better damned well be a sequential-manual or DSG.
Most wrong-wheel-drive cars. Exceptions include VWs, some Japanese cars, and a handful of others (like the Elan).
Any wallowy landyacht, especially those that only wish they were luxurious or high-quality (eg. anything from Detroit).
Any Cadillac other than the Catera or CTS.
The scourge of the american retro styling era -- Chevrolet SSR and HHR, Chrysler PT Cruiser, the most-recent Ford Thunderbird...

Pretty much anything american.
BTW, my $1500 Daihatsu Rugger will kick your H2's ass offroad any day unless its fuck-off boulders, or emmense flat swamps where power is the only thing to get you through. Bring your H2 to NZ and we will laugh our asses off at you as it is no where near nimble or agile enough to get you through the tight narrow tracks. It's a 4x4 for the desert. Even amercan 4x4'ers seem to shun it - never ever see it on any of the televised events that make it to NZ from the states. Still, I love the engineering of the H2 - reduction hubs FTW, adjustable pressure on the fly etc - good ideas put on the wrong truck IMO.
BTW, the BMW isetta has 4 wheels - the rear ones are just closer together giving the appearance of only 1 rear wheel.
I've seen a modified isetta with 200+HP, but can't find the pics. Here is an even uglier "mother duck" isetta drop-top with matching trailer
+1 to most of the cars listed already with another to add to the list:
Toyota made this monstrosity and I have actually seen quite a few on the road. Why?

If you read my entire post you will see that I alluded to the H2 not being the best off road truck. It does very well in the wider wooded trails I live around, and the Moab, but it is not ideal. Even the 150K Alpha H1 is not an ideal off road truck for all terrains. If you have enough cash you can build a top truck, but I bought my truck for a all weather, all season, all family truck. For me, it gets the job done. Plus I have a ton of fun, and am getting into HUMMER HOPE. But, trust me, it is the most hated truck on the road...I know that, and I see it every day.Pretty much anything american.
