    This shit is SO fucking cool... MYT Engine design

    The video on this blog is really cool:

    Here's the guy that made it:

    And an animation of what's going on inside:

    * much higher power/weight ratio
    * very clean burning
    * very fuel efficient (Raphial indicates 150mpg)
    * far fewer moving parts
    * also has potential to run from compressed air (think air-car)

    Same displacement.

    Over 800lbs of torque @ idle.. :D AND it can run on compressed air, potentially.

      That is FUCKING sick. 800 ft. lbs of torque at 800 rpm FTMFW. So small to. Lets get him to swap one in an e30. How about two actually, they are so small.

      Thanks for sharing.

            If the technology is not flawed and all of their statistics are true then an engine with the power of an m20 would be about as big as a beer can, and get 150mpg. Fucking sweet, I hope that these engines are really what they are claiming.

                So hard to beleive, if its true, the swap potential would be amaizing. could fit one of those on/ in anything. still seems to good to be true. I bet this guy gets assasinated.

                      Did you miss him using an air compressor to power it in the video?

                          It will probably never be developed. The typical piston pounding engine design has about 100 years and billions of dollars of R&D put into it. The early piston engines were like 20hp and 250ci which shows how far we can make a really shitty design go once everyone dumps all their money and time into it. If you were to show a regular piston engine as a new invention people would think you had invented a space heater since it is more efficient at doing that than it is at making power.

                              Ok.. so assuming that its true that this engine can run on compressed air, exactly how much air will you need to compress and how fast to you need to compress it in order to get 800 lbs. of torque? My guess would be that it would take a compressor about the size of the cummins diesel engine and it would probably use the amount of fuel comprable to the weight of the compressor, car and new engine.
