I bought an e30. And then another, and another, and another, and yet finally - - - another. Only two are currently in my possession.

I have a lot, heres the most recent one.
I took my hood off to do some work, finish up and I need to get the hood back on. This is a bit of a challenge when you are by yourself.
Anyways I try to set it on, but its almost impossible to see the tabs where the bolts line up so I can set it on the hinge. So I figure I need to stand on something so I can see over the top of my hood to set it on.
Bright idea on my part I stand on my rolling seat deal that I sit on when working on my car. So I stand on that with my hood between my arms and try to peer over the hood to see where to set it.
Well after fiddling around the seat rolled out from under me and I toppled down hitting my head on the bumper and my hood falling on top of me.
Didn't really get hurt, but it was just an "I'm a dumbass" moment. Good thing my hood was already dented and all bashed up!Rollin' with a Geistkuchen

You guys are doing it the hard way. An e30 hood is the easist hood to put on by yourself. Unless you're not that tall. All i do is set the hood into the rollers and then set it down on the hinge and then bolt it up.

I've got a bunch but I'm out the door in a minute so here is one to start...
During my tranny swap, when I was bleeding the clutch, I was laying below the car while my brother pumped the clutch. I noticed a drip or two of brake fluid dripping from the MC so I shifted around to look up under the MC and sure enough, a drop hit me square in the eye. It burned so badly on contact I immediately tried to sit up and slammed my head into the oil pan. Not only did my eye burn for over an hour, I had a headache as well.

I was trying to see why a fan was making a racket on a demo derby style e30 (no bonnet or front panels, fenders etc. Motor was running and I put my thumb in the aux fan without thinkking (obviously). Sliced my thumb more than half way thru - could see the bone.
Started hurting about 5 mins later. Got my neighbour (a nurse) to stitch it up and went back to working on the car. (e30 commitment).
This was less than 6 months ago. I still don't have 100% feeling in the thumb but its gradually coming back - just a wee spot right on top that is tingling as the nerves regrow. Plus got a cool scar.

Went over a speed hump in a lowered e30. Bashed the fuel tank up good.
Went and filled up a few days later. About 5 mins later went round a sharp bend and ended up facing the way I was coming. I was WTF? Went and had a look and fuel was pissing out of the tank and all over the rear wheels making for zero traction. Also spewing all over the hot exhaust!
Why? The fuel gauge sender had been popped up out the top of the tank under the rear seat when I hit the bump. Wasn't until I filled the tank that fuel could spill out the top of the tank, run down the tank and all over my wheels/exhaust.

while wiring up the megasquirt with a wasted spark system, we werent entirely sure which plug wires went where, so we tried it any way... note to you guys with spark plugs, do it right the first time.
because we were using a megasquirt, the intake could be open right at the TB. while cranking it, i had my friend spray brake cleaner in to prime it... the spark was on an intake stroke but enough to blow up in his face like a shotgun sound and a huge flame.
he fell back disillusioned. lucky for him, he still had hair on his face. lmao
...but now we call him blind kevin.

OK
After a Friday night of heavy drinking I wake up to head to my friend's shop. Hop in the e30 and start her up and go to open the windows. Nothing happens. After spending an hour testing switches and scratching my head I finally figure out the child lock is on.Yours truly,
Rich
