Just research exaclty what you need, if you know it better than they do, they can't one up you, works on my parents. Though my prefered method is to just do things, and if they notice, I tell them, if not, well, you should be paying more attention

At least your parents let you swap the engine, I'm stuck at that point. Apparently I don't need more power, it'll only make me drive faster. Which is true, of course. Only reason I can give them is for bragging rights, which doesn't justify a $3000 swap.

Chick mechanics are SO hot! I had to go to the stealership the other day to put the truck in for service and I had a couple of questions on a problem that had me stumped. Long story short, she knew her stuff and I was impressed. Too bad she was married because I would have proposed to her on the spot.
