The car has been a 335 for about 5k fairly hard miles. We did the complete installation of the swap in a matter of days (deadline = Bimmerfest), so the subframe was not inspected, but we also had no reason to believe that it was failing. We did swap the diff, so it was at least glanced at.

I will post some pics of the complete subframe.

Like I said, the subframe condition deteriorated rapidly (within 24 hours of first symptoms). :(

Our setup is a chipped M30b35 and a 3.46 diff.

Is this a common issue, and if so has this already been well documemted as to how much metal and where to put it is needed?
Ben, I know the rear subframes are an issue, but I can't find info on it anywhere.
I am bringing it to my local welding buddy to have strengthened, and we will keep patterns of the metal we use.

Ouch, looks like the diff didnt want to stay put. Was the diff mount ok too?

Most cars I would, but not this one! haha

There didnt appear to be any damage to the diff mount. I DEARLY hope not anyway!

The new subframe was sent out today, I should have it back tomorrow, all burly and manly, and able to handle the power. :D
